Privacy Policy
Last updated October 27, 2026
This policy explains how the KnitHub app and this website handle information. KnitHub is operated by Sofia Levin. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to feedback@knithub.com.
Information you put in the app
KnitHub stores the projects, techniques, counters, notes, photos, and documents you choose to add. This information is kept on your device and, when available, synced through your private Apple iCloud account so it can appear on your devices. Apple provides the iCloud service; KnitHub does not operate a separate account for this content.
When you select a photo, PDF, or other file, KnitHub uses it for the feature you chose. Camera access is used for measurement features when you grant permission. You can manage these permissions in your device settings.
Optional Ravelry connection
If you connect Ravelry, the app opens Ravelry’s sign-in flow and stores the resulting access token in the iOS Keychain. KnitHub may retrieve your Ravelry username, profile photo URL, projects, pattern details, cover photos, and PDFs needed for the import you request. Imported copies are stored with your KnitHub data. Your Ravelry password is not entered into KnitHub. You can disconnect Ravelry in KnitHub settings. Ravelry’s own handling of your account data is described in its privacy policy.
Purchases and diagnostics
Apple processes App Store purchases. KnitHub uses RevenueCat to check whether Premium access is active and to restore purchases. This involves purchase and entitlement information and an app customer identifier. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
KnitHub sends feature-use events, such as opening a tool or completing a purchase, to TelemetryDeck to understand how the app is used. These events do not include the content of your projects, techniques, photos, or PDFs. TelemetryDeck describes its privacy approach here. When configured, Sentry receives diagnostic reports about purchase-related errors. KnitHub configures these reports without screenshots, view hierarchy, or user-created content. See Sentry’s privacy information.
Support and website
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message so we can respond. This website is hosted by Vercel, which may process ordinary connection information needed to serve the pages. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate page views, referrers, approximate location, browser, operating system, and device type. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies and does not associate this information with a persistent personal identifier. The site does not ask you to create an account or submit your knitting data.
Launch waitlist
If you joined the launch waitlist, your email address was sent to Waitlister so we could notify you about KnitHub’s launch. The website no longer collects waitlist signups. To ask us to remove your email from the waitlist records, contact feedback@knithub.com.
How information is used and shared
Information is used to provide KnitHub’s features, sync data through iCloud, complete optional Ravelry imports, verify purchases, respond to support requests, and diagnose or improve the app. Data is shared with Apple, Ravelry, RevenueCat, TelemetryDeck, and Sentry only as needed for the services described above. KnitHub does not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.
Your choices
You can edit or delete content in the app, disconnect Ravelry, manage photo and camera permissions in iOS, and manage subscriptions through your Apple account. You can delete local app data by removing the app; data synced to iCloud may also need to be removed from your iCloud storage. Removing KnitHub does not delete information held in your Ravelry account or Apple purchase history. For access, correction, or deletion requests concerning information held by KnitHub’s operator, contact the email above.
Security and retention
KnitHub uses the iOS Keychain for Ravelry tokens and relies on Apple’s protections for device and iCloud data. Support messages and diagnostic information are retained only as needed for support, troubleshooting, and legal obligations. Retention by Apple, Ravelry, and the service providers above is governed by their own policies. No security measure can guarantee absolute protection.
Children and changes
KnitHub is not directed to children. We may update this policy as the app changes and will revise the date above when we do.
